Weekend Food For Kids Program

A project of the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry and the School District of Rhinelander.

What happens when kids go home for the weekend and face empty cupboards? The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry and the School district of Rhinelander have partnered to create the Weekend Food for Kids Program to ensure that no child goes home hungry.

This program is currently serving over 200 children in the Rhinelander School District. The backpacks are distributed to the students each Friday and returned to school on Monday.

Food being distributed is intended to be nutritious, delicious and simple for a child to prepare in case an adult is not available to do so. The cost is approximately $4.40 per child.

The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization.
